THE INTERACT CLUB OF UITENHAGE HIGH SCHOOL

The Rotary Club of Uitenhage South is proud to announce the chartering of the 7th Interact Club. On Tuesday 16th October, the Interact Club of Uitenhage High Senior Secondary School was officially chartered by the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South.
The occasion was attended by President Alex Govender and  Rotarians from Rotary Club of Uitenhage South, The school principal, Mr.T. Heynes and a teacher Mrs. F. Nelson from Uitenhage High responsible for coordinating the service club at the school. Apart from the Interact club members from Uitenhage High, there were also two members from Interact clubs of neighbouring schools, namely Strelitzia, Mary Mount, Brandwag, Gamble Street, and Riebeek College to share the special moment with the newly inducted Interact members from Uitenhage High.
The President of the Interact Club of Uitenhage High,  Kealyn Brown was inducted by President Alex Govender and Rotarians assisted with the induction of the other board members.
The service club at the school was known as “Interact Club” and operated like all other Interact clubs, but was not officially connected to a Rotary club in order to have international recognition like all other Interact clubs. We are proud to make this possible and to welcome this club to the international family of Rotary/Interact clubs. The Interact Club at the school was involved with various remarkable projects at the school e.g. soup kitchens, snack track, Abstinence awareness and involvement with Heart foundation and cancer association projects.
The Rotary Club of Uitenhage South is proud to be associated with Uitenhage High Senior Secondary School and we wish them well with their future endeavours.
