67 MINUTES CONTRIBUTION TO NELSON MANDELA DAY

On a cold winters day in July 2012 RTNS Aubrey, Ashwin & Leon
await the start of the handout.

The RTNs strategising how to set up the handover points
                                                               for soup, bread and blankets.

The Rotary banner is put in a prominent spot.

67 minutes for MADIBA DAY - the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South
teamed up with JAGS & the UNDERPRIVILEDGED CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
to give out soup, blankets and shoes on 14th July 2012.

The UNDERPRIVILEDGED CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM.

JAGS CAFE offered up their shop front space so that the Rotarians could work under
a roof and out of the rain.

RTN Leon & PP Shaun with President Alex
ready to hand over TOMS SHOES to the needy.

Alida Davis from the Underpriviledged Children's Ministry
joins the Rotarians to help identify the indigent.

PP Alan hands a cup of hot soup to one of the homeless.

President Alex hands over a blanket to each needy child.

RTN Aubrey counting his blessings!

Once again it was a cold and rainey morning but that would
not keep the homeless away we were assured.

That pot of soup was heated up and the lines started forming
to enjoy the warm meal.

President Alex seems to have frost on his top lip it was so cold
while handing out the bread.

More & more arrived and the pots kept giving.

President Alex helps to hand out the food.

The pot was scraped to the bottom and every drop enjoyed.
The Rotarians had quite a time trying to find the right size shoes
especially for the children.

Then it was the adults turn to receive shoes.

RTN Manoj help President Alex and RTN Leon with
crowd control.

This homeless woman was very happy with her new blanket from
RTN Leon.

Then RTN Manoj gave her a new pair of shoes too.

This little guy couldn't wait to take his blanket out of its
plastic and drape it over his cold shoulders.

These homeless people were treated to soup, shoes and a new blanket each.

A grateful participant.

When you are really down, you truelly need a hand up.

President Alex gives a helping hand here.

...and here.

...and here.

...and here until its just right.

PP Alan made a friend for life.

What a wonderful priviledge it was to SERVE OTHERS
in this way on 'MADIBA DAY"
Happy Birthday for the 18th TATA.
