ROTARY ANN'S JERSEY PROJECT

The Knitting Project has been running for a number of years and is co-ordinated by Ann Shelley Hopley.
It consists of the production of jerseys, baby layettes, blankets made from squares and teddies.
Wool is purchased from our funds or more often donated to us and distributed to a few of our older ladies in the community (in Uitenhage & Graaff Reinette) who knit jerseys throughout the year.
These are accummulated until the colder months when there are enough jerseys (preschool size) to hand out to a group or class of needy children.  Shelley has a contact, Frank, in the East that regularly sends her parcels of wool -  so she is bridging continents!!!
